Tournament Results - Friday Night Action #10
Written by Joshua Anderson

USCF Rating Report

Halloween Eve found a group of chess players meeting in King of Prussia for the 10th Friday Night Action.  Due to the short notice for the tournament and the fact that many of our regulars are in Pittsburgh this weekend playing in the Pennsylvania State Championship, there were only 9 players in attendance.  First prize ($100) was won by Atharva Deshpande with a score of 3.5 - 0.5.  This gives him victories in back to back Silver Knights Chess tournaments.  After losing in the first round, Atharva's little brother Anish stormed back to win the Under 1400 prize with a score of 3.0-1.0.

The next Friday Night Action is November 20 in King of Prussia.

Friday Night Action Tournaments Continue!
Written by Adam Weissbarth

We have finally found a site for the Friday Night Action tournaments! They will now be held at the Belmont Park Classroom in King of Prussia, PA. Friday Night Action events are a great way for adult chessplayers to play rated games against tough competition, and provide advanced scholastic players with good opponents they might not find at most scholastic events.

There are a few changes to the format of the tournament:

- Online registration now ends at noon the day of the event, not 5:00 PM.
- The cost is now $20 for scholastic players, not $15.
- Due to space constraints, registration is currently limited to the first 30 players that sign up each month. Spots in the tournament are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

The next three tournament dates are October 30, November 20, and December 18.
