This tournament has four different sections for players, depending on their skill and age.

Unrated Quads
This section is for players that are unrated (never been to a tournament) or are rated under 200.  Players are placed in groups of four (a "quad") by age, and get one game against each of the other three players in their quad.  At the end of all the games, the player in each quad that wins the most games gets a trophy.  U.S. Chess Federation membership is not required for Unrated Quads. Players in the Unrated Quads MUST check in by 12:45pm the day of the tournament -- anyone that is not at the tournament site and checked in by then will not get to play.

K-12 Championship (U.S. Chess Federation Rated)
This section is for players rated over 900, or lower-rated players that want more of a challenge.  It is four games with a time control of G/30. Check-in is not required. Trophies to top players.

K-12 U/900 (U.S. Chess Federation Rated)
This section is for players of any age rated between 500 and 900, or players in grades 7-12 rated under 500.  It is four games with a time control of G/30.  Check-in is not required. Trophies to top players.

K-6 U/500 (U.S. Chess Federation Rated)
This section is for players in grades K-6 rated under 500 or unrated.  It is a great section for elementary school kids looking to get their first taste of rated play.  It is four games with a time control of G/30. Check-in is not required. Trophies to top players.

All sections begin playing at 1:00pm, with subsequent rounds starting ASAP.

USCF membership is required for rated sections. Click here to check for an existing USCF#. Free game analysis for all players by NM Adam Weissbarth or NM Peter Minear. Online registration is $25 before midnight Wednesday or $30 Friday before noon. Registration by mail is $30.
