Play in our first-ever open team championship!

Teams consist of four players with an average rating under 1800. All four players must be current USCF members. Players must be ranked in order of rating, with the strongest player at 1st board and the weakest player at 4th board. The official USCF May rating supplement will be used. Players do NOT have to be part of the same club to form a team.

Each team plays four matches against other teams. Each match is made up of four games. If one team wins 2.5 or more games, that team wins the match. If both teams win 2 games, the match is a draw. At the end of the tournament, the team that wins the most matches is the tournament champion. Ties are broken by total number of games won.

The tournament is non-elimination, so all teams get to play all four matches. Round times: 9:30, 11:15, 1:30, 3:15. Time control: G/45. Plaques to top 5 teams, top scholastic team, top team U/1500, U/1200, U/900, U/600.

Online registration is $100 per team ($25 per player) by the Wednesday before the tournament or $112 by noon the day before the tournament. On-site registration for $120 per team is from 8:30-9:00. Chess sets and clocks not provided.

There is a blitz tournament following the main event from 5:00 - 7:30. Registration will be available on-site.
