As the school year winds down, it's time to think about how kids will spend their summer. Silver Knights has 21 week-long chess camps throughout the Philadelphia-area. Chess camps are a great way for kids to meet new friends and keep their chess skills sharp during the break from school. We have an all-star list of chess instructors, including two International Masters and the national high school champion.
Additionally, we have our first chess workshop scheduled for Sunday, July 27 in Bryn Mawr. This workshop will allow the students to play rated games and learn more advanced strategy from master-level instructors.
Students looking for competition can enter the following Philadelphia-area tournaments:
June 28, June Crush K-12 tournament, Horsham, PA
June 30 - July 6, World Open, Philadelphia, PA
July 19, July Joust K-12 tournament, Radnor, PA
August 2, August Rush K-12 tournament, Horsham, PA
August 3, Holly Heisman Memorial tournament, Wynnewood, PA
Finally, congratulations go out to Dan Yeager of Hatboro-Horsham High School and Kevin Zhou of Eagleville Elementary School in Collegeville. Dan won first place at the national K-12 championship, and Kevin finished 5th in national K-1 championship.
