We hope all you chessplayers out there are having a great summer! Over 500 students have participated in Silver Knights summer camps and tournaments so far in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia. Winners of events in the past month include:

Holly Heisman Memorial Fundraiser -- Gregory Nolan (Open), Tommy Guo (U/1500), and Praneeth Ramesh (U/900)
We are also excited to announce a new scholastic chess workshop on Saturday, November 21, for players ages 4-18. Taught by National Master Adam Weissbarth and PA State Champion NM Peter Minear, the workshop will help scholastic players fix their weaknesses and play better in tournament games. Space is very limited, so register early to reserve your spot!
The August Burn K-12 Chess Tournament on August 15 in Bryn Mawr, PA is already full, so no more registration is available. Philadelphia-area scholastic players will get their next chance to compete on October 3 at the Fall Warm-Up tournament in King of Prussia. Virginia chessplayers in grades K-8 can compete at the August Blaze tournament on Saturday, August 29 in Annandale.
Our after-school chess club schedule for the fall is nearing completion. We will have about 60 programs in the Philadelphia suburbs and 15 in Virginia, and we have a few spots left in both areas. If you'd like to get a chess club set up at your school, just give us a call at 610-446-0818 and we'll do our best to help!
And finally, we will hopefully be organizing our first open Grand Prix chess tournament (for players of any age) on December 12 and 13 in Philadelphia. We hope to guarantee about $3,000 of prize money and have sections ranging from an U/1400 section all the way up to an Open section with strong masters. Keep checking the website for details as the time approaches!
