Some upcoming tournaments in the Phialdelphia area:

March 20: Friday Night Action #3. This tournament is open to adults and kids. This is a great opportunity for kids to play with the very best chessplayers in the state.

March 21: Greater Philadelphia Scholastic Championships. This tournament will feature free analysis for all players by the state champion, NM Peter Minear. The winner of the K-12 section gets entry into the Greater Philadelphia Junior Invitational, an 8-player tournament that typically features a $2,000 prize fund. All K-3 players get a trophy.

March 28: March Madness. This K-12 tournament lets everyone take a break from the excitement of college basketball to play some chess!

April 4: Central Bucks Chess Tournament. A K-8 tournament, this event is perfect for players in Bucks County who want a tournament closer to home.

April 17: Friday Night Action #4.

April 18: April Showers K-12 Tournament.

April 25: Spring Rumble K-12 Tournament. This tournament is held in the Perkiomen Valley School District, to give our Collegeville and Norristown students someplace close by to play.

May 30: Team Tournament #2. Our first team tournament, last November, drew 80 players from 20 school teams. Teams of 4 players from the same school compete in matches against other schools. This tournament is not USCF-rated, so it's the perfect chance to bring a few of your chess friends who have never been to a tournament before and want to see what it's like!
